Craft Soda from Jungle Jim’s

If you’re from Cincinnati, you’ve most likely heard of Jungle Jim’s. It’s hard to put Jungle Jim’s into words…the amusement park of grocery stores? If you can’t find something anywhere else, they probably have it and so much more. There are two locations in Cincinnati, one in Fairfield and the other in Eastgate.

My daughter and I were there a couple of weeks ago and came across “The King of Pop” aisle. It is an entire aisle of craft sodas, some of which sound absolutely disgusting! Everything from Barf Soda to Candy Cane Soda and everything in between. I even saw someone purchase the Mustard Flavored Soda. Yuck! We decided to purchase some sodas and try them out. Suffice it to say, we stuck to some of the tamer ones. They even have 4-pack and 6-pack bottle holders so you can make your own selections.

We both tried all of them except the Black Cherry Cream Soda and the Coconut Cream Lime Soda (only I tried those). I also found out with a little research that the sodas were bottled by 3 different companies with the majority of the 10 coming from Rocket Fizz Soda Pop and Candy Shops, LLC. But our favorite, by far, came from Jackson Hole Soda!

If you get a chance, I would encourage you to make a trip to Jungle Jim’s for not only the sodas but everything else!

1. The Original Fudge Brownie Cookie Dough Bites Soda

• 👎🏻👎🏻

• Can taste cookie dough but doesn’t make a good soda flavor

2. Melba’s Fixins Carrot Cake Soda

• 👍🏻👍🏻

• Doesn’t taste like it smells

• Kind of tastes like vanilla cream soda

• Tastes like cream cheese icing but smells like the cake part of the carrot cake

3. Wizard of Oz Cherry Cola

• 👍🏻👍🏻 really like

• Tastes like a cherry Coke from Frisch’s Big Boy that was made from fountain Coke & cherry syrup ( not premixed cherry Coke from a can or bottle)

4. Unicorn Magic Honeydew Soda

• 👍🏻👍🏻 really like

• Tastes like a cross between honeydew, Sprite and vanilla cream soda

5. Coconut Cream Lime Soda

• Ok, but not great

• Weak coconut flavor, no taste of lime

6. Chumlee Root Beer (Pawn Stars)

• 👍🏻👍🏻

• Tasted like root beer, strong aftertaste

7. Melba’s Fixins Apple Pie Soda

• Tasted like apple pie

8. Bazooka Bubble Gum Soda

• Bad, my daughter said it reminded her of the pink flavoring the pharmacy used in the antibiotics she took when she was little
